We had such a wonderful experience at Metro Diner in Tuscaloosa! The food was absolutely phenomenal—everything came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. What really made our visit stand out, though, was our waitress, Nicole. She was incredibly patient, kind, and attentive throughout our entire meal. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. My daughter even said she was the best waitress we’ve ever had—and I have to agree! Went for a late breakfast. Seated right away. The waitress, Mya T., was very good! I had the Bissell breakfast which I have had before. Today it was the best ever. The home fries were hot. The pancakes had those crispy edges that are so good.
Wow! Best Service ever. Shelly was super accommodating and made our experience here great. The food is worth coming back for (get the chicken & waffles), but I couldn’t have asked for a better server.
Tuscaloosa has good breakfast place like this one. Good food and friendly service. Fried fish and chips are delicious. We will come back 😃
Great experience here from start to finish. Our waitress—her name was Nicole, blonde and full of energy—was genuinely friendly and took great care of us. Service was fast, attentive, and welcoming. The food was on point: the steak tips were tender and flavorful, and the breakfast burger was stacked and satisfying. The cold brew was surprisingly good—definitely get it with the whipped cream and cold foam like she recommend. The atmosphere was fun too. They really went all-in on the Halloween decorations, which gave the place some character without feeling overdone. Overall, solid food, great service, and a place I’d come back to.
We have eaten here twice now, and both times it has been excellent. My one critique is that a few of the dishes, while absolutely delicious, are a bit hard to eat without making a mess — I am only half-joking when I say it wouldn’t hurt to stick a little napkin symbol next to those next time they print menus! The breakfast burger is probably the best thing we tried; eating one of those is an Experience. Since I lack a snake’s ability to unhinge my jaw, I found it impossible to eat the burger in the normal manner because of how impressively tall it is! That one is a knife and fork endeavor, and well worth getting laughed at by your dining companion because it’s scrumptious. The huevos rancheros look so enticing in their photos . . . and definitely live up to it when ordered. Service has been good both times we went, and we enjoyed the effort the staff put into their seasonal decor. Portions are generous. Serving breakfast all day is another big plus. We will definitely be back!
We had an incredible breakfast this morning at Metro Diner. Keshawn took excellent care of us! Why have I never thought of French toast made from croissants??? It was truly delicious!! Cinnamon roll pancakes were a hit. We will definitely visit again when we are back in Tuscaloosa!!
I've been to this location many times. I normally get the meat lover's omelet, but have tried a few different brunch items. The steak scramble bowl is great and they have a new canoli waffle with cream cheese topping that is amazing. Khalifa did a great job serving us this last time. They do have an outdoor seating option, just too hot during the summer though.
Oh my goodness! This is our new go-to breakfast joint when we are in Tuscaloosa. Hands down. Biscuits and gravy on-point, avocado toast amazing with super thick avocado. Grits yummy. Coffee hot and refilled. Cheyenne was the most amazing waitress and took the time to give us some recommendations. Overall 1000/10.
Hot, Fresh, and Full of Flavor Excellent food and a great dining experience. The fried chicken was amazing—crispy, hot, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The shepherd’s pie was equally delicious, full of flavor and served piping hot. Everything tasted fresh, and you can tell care goes into the preparation. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area. Highly recommend!
